Snapshot Cal Coast: Identify Coastal Plants and Animals Using iNaturalist – June 15th

Date: June 15th, 2024
Time: 9 am – 11 am
The Snapshot Cal Coast bioblitz is almost here! For the entire month of June, people are encouraged to join this statewide effort to document our coastal biodiversity. The San Diego Natural History Museum, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and naturalist Hector Valtierra will be leading an in-person event on Saturday, June 15 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am to record the biodiversity found at Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge. No prior experience is necessary, but an RSVP is highly encouraged. Sign up by emailing Park Ranger Nancy Fernandez at Nancy_Fernandez@fws.gov. We will be meeting at the trail entrance by Iris Ave (1480 5th St, Imperial Beach, CA 91932). Whether you are a seasoned naturalist or eager to explore, all you need is a sense of adventure, curiosity for nature, and a smartphone. During the event, we will be using the iNaturalist app/website. Learn how to use iNaturalist before we meet up! View this video https://vimeo.com/162581545
