301 Caspian Way, Imperial Beach, CA 91932-3149
Duration: 2 hr – Open to the public
Join California State Parks and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for this year’s City Nature Challenge, an international community science event where people around the world document the plants and wildlife living in their cities.
We invite you to take part in this effort on Sunday, April 26, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge. During this hands-on event, participants will explore the estuary and photograph plants, animals, and other wildlife using the free iNaturalist app or website. Every observation you submit contributes valuable data that helps land managers, scientists, and community members better understand and protect the natural resources in our region.
Meeting Location:
Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center parking lot
301 Caspian Way, Imperial Beach, CA
Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or brand‑new to community science, the City Nature Challenge is a fun way to connect with nature and support conservation. Participate with us at the estuary, or anywhere you choose, and see how many observations you can make, how many species you can find, or how many people you can inspire to join.
