One Year Later: Demonstration Garden is Bursting with Color!
BEFORE…
Potted native plants are being put in the new education garden by the stewardship team. One year later, the Amphitheater Demonstration Garden is now in full bloom! When you come to the Visitor Center, head to our outdoor amphitheater space to see it. The garden transformation started in early 2024 when it was planted by our amazing group of Friday Stewardship Volunteers who continue to care for it along side the rest of the stewardship team at the Reserve. Stewardship volunteers holding garden tools while working in the new garden. The native plants in this garden represent a variety of species that can be found growing throughout San Diego County. The intent of the garden is to not only educate visitors about native plants that occur naturally at the Reserve and the wider San Diego region, but also to inspire people to grow native species in their gardens at home or advocate for them to be planted in their community. Come enjoy the gorgeous plant life around the Visitor Center and on the trails this Spring.
