Saturday, March 2, 9am-1pm: Riparian Restoration, Bureau of Land Management/Dulzura-Sycamore Canyon
Volunteers have been assisting the BLM for 2 years to restore oak riparian habitat that was nearly destroyed by 2 wildfires in less than 10 years. Tasks in this area include removing invasive non-native plants and preparing sites for new seeds and plants. Oaks support over 300 native species in this ecosystem and are under threat from pests such as the Gold-spotted Oak Borer as well as wildfire, and possibly also from climate change. Please join us to support this critical habitat.
Saturday, March 16, 9-11am: Reptiles at the Ranch
PhD Candidate, Stephen Rice has been conducting research about reptiles at Rancho Jamul Ecological Reserve. Join him to learn about our local reptilian residents and meet some in person!
